The Community Court is committed to maintaining the privacy of all individuals and companies that choose to use the website to dispute feedback used by the eBay community for transactions on eBay. The Community Court Privacy Policy takes effect as soon as a case is opened by the user disputing feedback. By opening or responding to a case, or acting as a juror, you agree to adhere to the privacy policy. Any violation of the privacy policy may result in termination of the process and prohibit further involvement with the Community Court. As part of the process of The Community Court, we will ask you to provide statements, evidence, and in some cases, photos, to present your case. This privacy policy describes the information we collect and what may happen to that information.
Minors are not eligible to use The Community Court.
Users disputing or justifying feedback will submit statements and photos regarding the transaction and the feedback left. Jurors using the Community Court will vote either to keep or remove feedback based on the evidence provided. Jurors may be asked to provide brief statements explaining why the voted the way they voted.
The Community Court will collect this information along with user IDs and transaction listings. This information will be stored and secured internally and may be used to analyze the process in order to make improvements or changes. The Community Court will not publish on its website specific outcomes of Community Court decisions or any specific case details of the process. The Community Court will not publish, identify or make known the names or user IDs of any user who wishes to participate as a juror.

eBay will not distribute or sell any information provided by the use of the Community Court to any other user, third party, or company. Statements and photos submitted by users will not be distributed or sold to any other third party or company. eBay may save details of your involvement with Community Court and information submitted by users during Community Court for internal records and use. This is done to improve on the Community Court process.
eBay will not publish on its website or publish in user listings the outcome of Community Court decisions or any details of the process. eBay will not publish, identify or make known the names or user IDs of any user who wishes to participate as a juror.
If feedback is successfully disputed through Community Court, the feedback is simply removed without evidence of Community Court being used. If feedback is unsuccessfully disputed through Community Court, then the feedback simply stays as is without evidence of Community Court being used.
The first step in the process has the seller writing a statement and uploading photos regarding the transaction related to the disputed feedback. The sellers eBay user ID link, and subsequent feedback and detailed seller ratings, will be available during the Community Court process. All statements and photos uploaded to the Community Court are stored on the Community Courts secure servers.
The seller has the option to upload photos. Photo Privacy PolicyThe statement and photos are then posted on the Community Court website where they are viewable by all parties in the Community Court process.
The next step is the buyers ability to write their own statement with the option to upload photos. Photo Privacy PolicyThe buyer will be able to see the sellers eBay user ID along with the complete statement and photos. The buyers eBay user ID link, and subsequent feedback and detailed seller ratings, will be available during the Community Court process. All statements and photos uploaded to the Community Court are stored on the Community Courts secure servers. It is incumbent upon the user to keep their user ID and password safe and secure.
The final step in the process allows the jury to view both statements and photos along with the original eBay listing for the jury to vote on. The jurors will be able to see both buyer and sellers user ID links, and subsequent feedback and detailed seller ratings. The Community Court will not publish any information which would identify the jurors. The final decision by the jury will be made available to all who participated in the Community Court.
After the Community Court concludes, all statements and photos will not be available to view by the seller, the buyer, and the jury. The Community Court may save the statements, photos, and jury decisions for internal use.
Disclosure of your password to any third party is a violation of the user agreement. Therefore, the privacy policy is voided if any third party has gained control of your password. The Community Court and eBay are not liable for the release of any information in these cases. If your password has been compromised, you should immediately change your password.
This privacy policy only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. The Community Court and eBay makes no guarantees or excepts any liability for what users choose to do with the information and content viewable within the Community Court. Any information you provide to a third party outside of the Community Court is subject to the confidentiality customs and policies of that third party.
The Community court has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of any information under our control. However, perfect security does not exist on the internet.

Based upon personally identifiable information you provide us through your user ID, we will send email updates regarding your involvement with the Community Court.
